05 Aug DAFF launches AusTreat: A new biosecurity treatment provider scheme
The 1st of July saw the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) launch AusTreat: a new initiative aimed at ensuring imported goods undergo proper biosecurity treatment before entering Australia.
AusTreat is a holistic integrated scheme that will enable a more efficient and future-ready biosecurity system, protecting Australia from imported pests such as the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB).
This new initiative replaces the Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers Scheme and sets the conditions for the regulation of pre-border biosecurity treatment providers.
