04 Dec Global air cargo continues to soar
Continuing rising demand has seen global air cargo experience a 9.4 per cent year-on-year growth.
The Asia-North America route has hit 11 consecutive months of growth, rising by 7.6 per cent in September, and holding 25 per cent of the world’s trade share.
The Europe-Asia trade lane has experienced 19 consecutive months of growth, while demand for trade lanes within Europe skyrocketed by 18 per cent in September.
With 9.4 per cent year-on-year growth, cargo volumes continued to mark all-time highs for demand.
The largest increasing trend in the current global air cargo market is the continuing rise of capacity, which is measured in available cargo-tonne kilometres (ACTKs)., rising by 6.4 per cent when compared to September 2023, and 8.1 per cent for international operations.
