07 Feb ILA contract ratification imminent
The International Longshoremen’s Association is expected to submit a tentative contract with port employers United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) for review within days.
Once the committees approve the terms of the contract, it will be sent to union members for a ratification vote, which could see ILA workers vote this month and commence their new contract by early March 2025.
The contract provides job guarantees linked to the introduction of automation equipment, as well as a 62% hourly pay hike over six years retroactive to 1 October 2024.
