08 Apr Congestion At Canada Set To Worsen
Congestion at the Port of Vancouver is expected to worsen over the coming weeks due to the combination of restricted access to inland rail links and deteriorating liner schedule reliability as the alliance reshuffle continues.
Tiered operating restrictions have been in place in response to severe weather conditions which has resulted in increased import dwell times. In addition, 25% of the vessels at the port are awaiting a berth, with waiting times varying from 6-10 days.
These conditions are anticipated to be resolved within the next 10-14 days.
