07 Dec Argentina Foreign Trade Update
With increasing restrictions due to a lack of dollars in Argentina’s Central Bank Reserve, the Government had initiated implementation of SIRASE (Com A7771), which is a specific authorisation for the payments of services abroad for foreign trade services such as freight, storage and other services.
However, currently this authorisation has not been approved and as a consequence both importers and freight forwarders in Argentina are not able to set the payments abroad because they have no access to the dollars with this lock of SIRASE.
In the interim it is recommended that any operations to Argentina be done with freight prepaid using CFR or CIF in an attempt to minimise any difficulties.
