Budapest to get an intermodal terminal

Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with Xi’an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation (China) to create a joint intermodal cargo terminal on the Danube River in Budapest, which is part of a comprehensive network for multimodal transports in Europe.

With a capacity of 230,000 teu per annum, the terminal will increase the number of container trains on the China-Europe-China route and upon completion, this terminal will help reduce delivery and transshipments times and decrease transport costs.
