ILA and USMX negotiations resume

Negotiations between the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Employers (USMX) have resumed, with a tentative agreement on a new six-year master contract announced.

This new agreement is conjointly considered a win for both parties due to ability to simultaneously protect jobs and introduce technologies that improve safety and efficiency whilst ensuring American ports remain competitive amongst the global supply chain landscape.

Whilst this tentative agreement is yet to be ratified, it does ensure that no industrial action will occur on the 15th January 2025.
