Imported wine bottles hit with US tariffs

Wine bottle manufacturers from China, Chile and Mexico are facing US tariffs as the US Department of Commerce (DoC) has accused their glass wine bottle producers of selling their products in the USA at unfairly low prices.

With this investigation underway since January of this year, lower tariffs have been set with countries that co-operate with the DoC.

The tariffs range from 6.64% through to 218.15%, with early rates between 21.77% and 27.97% for more than a dozen manufacturers in China, 6.64% and 34.46% for most Chilean wine bottle producers, and 14.96% and 18.08% for most Mexican companies (with three facing tariffs of 96.95%).
