29 Sep MUA industrial action underway across Qube ports
The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has commenced industrial action across Qube’s bulk and general ports across Australia with bans and limitations starting in Melbourne, Port Kembla and Brisbane.
The MUA have unveiled a raft of work stoppages and bans with plans to escalate this industrial action against Qube amidst wage negotiations.
According to the MUA, it has been seeking early, co-operative negotiations with Qube management since October 2023. Conversely a spokesperson for Qube has stated the bans had, in fact, commenced weeks ago in Melbourne, leaving Qube solo at the negotiating table in the interim.
