New date set for self-assessed clearance charges

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has issued a further update to inform members that the new date for self-assessed clearance (SAC) charges has been delayed until the 1st of October 2024.

This revised commencement date will allow the industry and DAFF to work through a detailed implementation plan and ensure all parties and systems are ready to accommodate this impending charge.

This impacts all customs brokers, freight forwarders and importers of goods valued up to and including AUD$1,000.

DAFF will continue to provide updates leading up to the commencement of the charge on 1st October 2024 to ensure that industry has the information required to put the appropriate measures and systems in place.
