30 Sep Night movements permitted at Pasir Panjang
The Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has announced that night movements of line-towed container barges will be allowed to and from the Pasir Panjang Terminal. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity with regional ports, as well as improve port efficiency, reduce the time container and feeder vessels spend at berth, and the need for containers to be transported between land terminals.
This announcement comes as the Port of Singapore saw a 6.1 percent increase in containers handled over the first seven months of 2024 when compared to last year, handling a total of 23.82 million twenty-foot equivalent units.
