06 Jan Omicron Devastates Australia’s Supply Chain
Happy New Year from the team at Transolve Global. We hope you have enjoyed a well-deserved break over the festive season and are keeping healthy and safe.
The last few years have undoubtedly been tough on everyone who works across the supply chain landscape, leading to a common hope that 2022 would be a smoother year for all involved.
However, the Omicron variant and current isolation requirements have had a devastating impact across the supply chain, leading to driver and labour staff shortages, which could have an impact on final mile deliveries.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen all segments of the supply chain sector heavily impacted by either positive COVID cases or close contact isolation requirements, resulting in reduced workforce availability of up to 50% in some circumstances.
With all parts of the supply chain facing the same issues, staffing challenges and pressures, the resulting fallout has been tremendous. From trucking companies, port terminals, container transport companies, heavy vehicle drivers, warehouse staff, forklift operators, container packing crews through to administration and more, there is not an individual or company that remains unaffected.
The impact of the current COVID outbreak, coupled with the Government’s isolation regulations, has undoubtedly resulted in the most difficult position since the start of this pandemic.
Here at Transolve, our team will continue to work with you through this challenging time and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to minimise the impact of these service disruptions for you.
If you have any further queries, please contact our helpful team.
Yours sincerely,
Rachael Budd & The Transolve Global Team
