27 Feb Panama Canal Update
As a result of rains over the last quarter, the Panama Canal has revised its daily allowance to 24 vessels per day. At this point in time, the authorities of Panama Canal see no need for further vessel restrictions until at least April, when they will evaluate water levels at the end of the dry season.
It is anticipated that if the expected rainfall in May does eventuate, the Panama Canal will be able to progressively increase its daily slots until it returns to approximately 36 vessels per day, which is their normal number during the rainy season..
