29 Sep Singapore Airlines first to launch services at Western Sydney International Airport
In a market-leading move, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has officially announced its plan to be the first international carrier to commence services at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) when it opens in late 2026.
Whilst SIA already operates out of Sydney’s Mascot International Airport, this new location provides the advantage of 24-hour operational capability which contributes to increased efficiency and serviceability for cargo operations.
In addition, SIA is expected to utilise the Airbus A350-900 aircraft for this route which has a cargo capacity of approximately 22,000 kg per flight which is ideal for the management of time-sensitive shipments and increased overall capacity for freight movement.
